APM - Résidences d'artistes

The organisation Les Ateliers du Plessix-Madeuc has been running residency programmes and presenting works in North Brittany since 2010. Since 2020, it has been based in Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer.

The aim of the organisation is to support young artists by providing them with access to a studio, accommodation, a stipend and free art equipment so that they can pursue their research and production. At the end of the residency, artists have the opportunity to exhibit the work they created. A number of events are organised throughout the year, including conferences, open days, exhibitions and workshops.

CONSIDERATION FOR RESIDENTS' FAMILY LIFE

We strive, where possible, to host residents’ families. This very much depends on the accommodation we have available.
The financial costs associated with hosting families are the responsibility of the resident.
Residences are open to pregnant people. To make their stay with us as comfortable as possible, we can put them in touch with key onsite contacts.

RESIDENTS' COMMITMENTS

— to complete the entire residency programme,
— to take part in public events,
— to present their work at the end of residency exhibition
— to leave behind a work produced during their residency for a period of 5 years. The work may be exhibited by the organisation at local exhibitions in order promote artistic practices and make them more accessible to the public.

ACTIVITIES AIMED AT THE PUBLIC

— Open studio days
— meetings about artistic practices: meetings with the public and experimentation activities in workshop sessions
— conferences
— end-of-residency exhibitions
